Michael Tomlinson MP fuels pupil debate in visit to HCS

Michael Tomlinson

Hereford Cathedral School pupils received a rare opportunity to meet a serving Minister last week, when the Rt Hon. Michael Tomlinson KC - MP for Mid Dorset and North Poole - visited the School.

Mr Tomlinson began his visit by simulating a Parliament setting, with the audience split along opposite sides of the Zimmerman Hall. He then encouraged the pupil audience to debate whether or not 16 year olds should be allowed to vote. The lively debate was followed by a Q&A session, in which pupils had the opportunity to ask Mr Tomlinson about his role as Minister of State for Countering Illegal Migration, and the work of the House of Commons.
