Deputy Head (Academic) 

September 2019 or January 2020

Hereford Cathedral School seeks to appoint a dynamic and inspirational Deputy Head (Academic). The post would suit applicants seeking a Headship in the future, and previous deputies have secured headships in both GSA and HMC schools.

Applicants should have experience of leadership and management in either the state or independent sector and will take responsibility for ensuring that the School’s academic policy and curriculum meets with the school aims. The Academic Deputy is a member of the Whole School Senior Leadership Team, attends Governing Body meetings and plays a key role in assisting the Head in strategic development.

Hereford Cathedral School is a leading co-educational school with an outstanding reputation. Although primarily a day school, a new boarding house to cater for international and UK students is about to be opened, marking the latest stage in the school’s exciting development plans. The school occupies an enviable position in and around the Cathedral Close with school playing fields overlooking the River Wye. 

The School was inspected by ISI in 2014 and graded “excellent” in each of the eight categories.

Admissions Assistant 
 

Location: Hereford
Description:  15 hours per week, ideally spread over 4-5 days per week
Term time (36 weeks per year) plus 2 weeks of flexible holiday cover
Some flexibility will be required, including some evening and weekend work.
Salary: 6-8 (£15,595 - £16,640) FTE .This equates to £5,409 for the work pattern detailed above.

Hereford Cathedral School are looking to appoint an Admissions Assistant.

The core purpose of this role is to work closely with the Admissions Officer to provide a professional and high quality admissions service to all enquirers, applicants and their families. The Admissions Assistant will provide administrative assistance and support to ensure the smooth running of the Admissions Office.

ICT Technician 

Hereford Cathedral School are looking to appoint a ICT Technician to work in our busy department.

Location: Hereford (City Centre)
Description:  35 hours a week - Full Time   
Salary:  18-20 (£21,868 - £22,914) for full time, all year round, work pattern.

The key purpose of the job is to provide network and application support to all users and keeping all equipment in good working order and to row the systems to provide excellent cross-campus computing facilities for both wired and wireless networking in a secure environment

The ideal candidate will also be able to grow the systems to provide excellent cross-campus computing facilities for both wired and wireless networking in a secure environment.

Essentials for this role are:
•    A sound understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy and managing Hyper-V virtualised environment
•    Good understanding of Microsoft Office application suite
•    Experience of ICT system installation, configuration and basic hardware maintenance
•    Provision of advice to multiply users (some of which are children)
•    Logical and organised especially in keeping documentation organised and prioritising tasks
•    Able to demonstrate absolute discretion in handling highly confidential detail
•    Able to work to tight deadlines and with minimal supervision
•    Naturally demonstrates a ‘can do’ helpful attitude and attention to detail

Full UK Driving Licence required as multi-site working will be required.

Teacher of Mathematics

School Minibus Driver 

Description:  10 hours per week over 5 days. 6.30am-8.30 am 
                   or 20 hours and 6.30am-8.30 am 3.30pm -5.30pm

Term-time only (36 weeks)

Salary: 10 hours per week - £14,549 per annum pro rata. This equates to £3,188.
Salary: 20 hours per week - £14,549 per annum pro rata. This equates to £6,376.

We are looking to appoint a skilled School Minibus Driver to join our transport department. 

All drivers of the school minibuses must:
•    Be over 21 years of age (for insurance purposes)
•    Have held a category B licence for at least 2 years.
•    Have a D1 entitlement on their licence.  
•    Undergo a Worcester County Council minibus driving assessment and must successfully pass this test to be employed.
•    Ensure the emotional and physical welfare of the pupils in their care in line with Hereford Cathedral School Child Protection Guidelines

Duties shall include the following:
•    To safely transport pupils and staff from one location to another ensuring that all Road Traffic Act Legislation is adhered to.
•    To maintain good customer relations with parents and schools and contribute to a positive atmosphere on the minibus. 
•    Carry out daily and weekly vehicle checks on minibus i.e. oil level, fuel, water etc.
