Our scholarship programmes recognise and reward exceptional talent which can be nurtured through an education at HCS.
Each year, we offer awards to pupils with the potential to excel in their chosen field. We look to our scholars to bring an attitude, dedication and commitment that will enrich our school community, becoming role models for their peers whilst making the most of their talents. Our scholars receive the support and opportunities to make the very most of their talents.
For 11+, 13+ and 16+ entry
Pupils are invited to apply for scholarships at 11+, 13+ or 16+. Scholarships are merit-based and awarded following an assessment (examination, audition or other appropriate method) and interview process, in addition to our usual entrance examinations. The assessment process takes place during the previous academic year (so for Year 9 entry, pupils would undergo assessment in Year 8).

HCS is a charity, and all fee income is used to balance expenditure. Scholarship opportunities are therefore limited to a small number of pupils each year and are highly sought after. Applying for a scholarship is a competitive process and the Admissions team are on hand to help you determine whether to make an application. Please note that the criteria we provide is for guidance only and does not determine success.
Our scholarships programme runs alongside the means-tested bursary programme which offers support to parents who would otherwise be unable to send their child to HCS. Pupils who are awarded a scholarship may also be able to receive financial assistance to help pay the school fees. Please note that all applications for financial assistance and scholarships should be made at the same time and in advance of the deadline.
