HCS runners raise funds for mental health charity Mind

Mind 27 27

A group of Hereford Cathedral School pupils and staff have raised over £1,000 for mental health charity Mind in March.

Spearheaded by Sixth Former Olivia T, the HCS team have been running a mile a day throughout the month as part of Mind’s 27 27 challenge. The campaign aims to raise awareness of university students’ mental health struggles – 27% report suffering with depression and anxiety whilst in higher education.

Olivia commented: "I feel incredibly chuffed at the response of the pupils, teachers and parents. The support and dedication has been inspiring throughout. I am very proud of everyone who took part, thank you to everyone who got involved."

Staff and boarders from Wilmot House have been a big part of the effort, and together have completed more than 500 laps of the boarding house grounds. If you would like to sponsor them, please click here.

There is still time to sponsor Olivia and/or Mrs Beavan.
