Personal, Social, Health & Citizenship Education complements the well-rounded education that our students receive through their subject lessons and tutor periods.
PSHCE is taught as a discrete subject to Year 12 students in a single (35 minutes) lesson each week. Our objective is to provide information and guidance, and promote thought about a range of topics which will help develop thoughtful, compassionate and healthy students with a strong moral compass and the social skills to succeed in the modern world.
The Year 12 programme is largely delivered by invited expert speakers and includes issues such as:
|Values ||Organ and Blood Donations |
|Eating Disorders ||Teenage Driving |
|Role of Magistrates ||Revision Skills |
|Rape and Consent ||University Finance |
|Sexual Health ||Binge Drinking |
|Homelessness ||Mental Well-being |
Careers advice and preparation for university admissions forms the major part of the summer term’s scheme of work.
