Today, Hereford Cathedral School Year 7 pupils have been uncovering all of the hidden delights of Hereford Cathedral in a special discovery day.
The pupils have enjoyed a packed schedule of activities in this cross-curricular event, which has included a treasure hunt, an art session in College Hall where pupils used pencils and ink to sketch creatures found in the cathedral’s stonework, a visit to see the Mappa Mundi and the Chained Library, plus a chance to climb the cathedral tower to experience the view from the roof.
In the afternoon, the children gathered in the nave to hear HCS Director of Music, Mr Barlow, play the cathedral’s magnificent organ.
An inspiring day for our Year 7s!
