Last Wednesday Year 6 spent the day with Dave Shaw from the Rainforest Roadshow. The day started with Dave telling the Junior School all about the rainforest in assembly and culminated with him shooting a balloon with a dart from a blowpipe that was being held by Mr Debenham!
During the day the children were able to ask lots of questions about life in the rainforest, handle many of the artefacts that Dave has brought back with him from his many travels, hold a variety of rainforest animals, including a red legged tarantula and a milk snake, and have a go at making some tribal jewellery. Dave also gave the children the opportunity to have a traditional tribal face painting and explained the significance of the different designs. The children greatly enjoyed the day and we are grateful for the funding from the PTA.
