Year 10 GCSE Drama and Year 12 A-Level Drama and Theatre students enjoyed taking part in a devising skills workshop, led by actor and director Elliot Liburd from the theatre company, Les Enfants Terribles.

Les Enfants Terribles are a highly regarded theatre company that focus on imagination, developing crafty characters and twisted tales to transport audiences through puppetry, music, movement, magic and immersive experiences. More information can be found here.

After a fun-filled and rigorous warm-up, the workshop focused on developing a movement language rooted in weight, speed and use of space, allowing pupils to begin to create short pieces of devised theatre that explored the concept of Over/Under/Around/Through.

The students created some excellent pieces, full of imagination and playful inventiveness, before receiving feedback from Elliot and their peers. This was a superb opportunity to work with theatre-makers at the top of their game, and they will be able to make real use of the skills they learned as they begin to create their devising exam pieces after Christmas.
