For our Year 12 and 13 students, our clubs and activities take on a new dimension. While students continue to enjoy exploring their passions outside of their academic endeavours, they also enjoy the opportunity to demonstrate their leadership skills.
Sixth Form students are presented with a diverse and enriching array of clubs and activities designed to foster personal growth, leadership skills, intellectual curiosity, and cultural appreciation. From assuming prestigious leadership roles within the Combined Cadet Force to engaging in stimulating debates, embarking on outdoor adventures, delving into the world of biomedical sciences, and expanding linguistic horizons, there’s something for everyone. These extra-curricular opportunities not only complement academic studies but also provide students with invaluable experiences that shape their character, broaden their perspectives, and prepare them for their futures.
Duke of Edinburgh Award
In Year 12 & 13, our students take their DofE to the next level with many achieving Silver and Gold awards during their time in the Sixth Form. Through their challenging expeditions, volunteering, skills development and physical activities, students develop essential life skills such as resilience, teamwork and self-reliance.
Club Leadership
While many students continue to pursue their interests through our diverse range of lunchtime and after-school clubs, some opt to assume leadership roles within them. Serving as the Chair in the school’s debating society, offers students the opportunity to mentor younger peers, developing their public speaking and critical thinking skills. Others dedicate themselves to nurturing the creativity of Years 7 to 9 in Drama Club, or guiding them in honing their exploratory skills through Dissection Club.
Other clubs are aimed specifically at our more senior students, including the Biomedical Society which offers those with an interest in the medical sciences the chance to engage in enriching discussions, Q&A sessions, and presentations led by experts in the fields of medicine, dentistry, and veterinary science. Through these interactions, students gain valuable insights into various healthcare professions and explore potential career paths in the biomedical sciences.
For those with a linguistic streak, our MFL department offers a range of clubs to help expand their language skills. From the Sociedad Española and Société Française to our Italian, Mandarin and Linguistic Olympiad clubs, students immerse themselves in different languages and cultures and foster global awareness and communication skills.
