Members of Hereford Cathedral School’s Sister Act cast had a “Fabulous!” opportunity this week, when West End choreographer and director Alistair David visited the school to run a workshop. Having recently choreographed the West End and UK national tour of Sister Act, Alistair was the perfect person to put the cast through their paces.
He spent the afternoon looking at different scenes and numbers from the show, including ‘Fabulous Baby’, ‘Raise Your Voice’ and ‘Take Me To Heaven’, and offered invaluable feedback and guidance in further refining the work that had already been done on acting, song and dance.
The cast benefited from some wonderfully inspirational direction and are already putting his suggestions into practice. Cast member, Fifi P, one the actors playing Deloris, commented: “This has been such a useful and exciting opportunity. To have someone of Alistair’s experience – both in the industry and with the show – offer us his insight has been hugely valuable.”
We are so grateful to Alistair for taking time out of his busy schedule to offer such helpful and thoughtful advice, and we are very much looking forward to sharing the fruits of the cast’s labours with you in just a month’s time!
