All this week at Hereford Cathedral School, pupils have been learning about the power of learning a language in the run-up to European Day of Languages.
In a programme of events involving chapels, presentations and a themed lunch, pupils learned that speaking languages opens up a whole world of opportunity.
On Tuesday, Spanish Auxiliar Sandra gave a presentation to Year 8 pupils about her childhood in Peru and how her love of languages influenced her career. Ms Sellar also gave a lively presentation about languages and working abroad. She spoke of her experience of working for a charity in Burkina Faso during a time of a military coup, when she and her team had to remain indoors for 10 days whilst the president was taken hostage. These presentations were also delivered to years 10 and 11.
