HCS Cadets win Regional Air Squadron Trophy

CCF RAF Cadets at RAF Cosford

Congratulations to Hereford Cathedral School’s CCF Royal Air Force section, who won the regional final of the recent Air Squadron Trophy Competition at RAF Cosford. It is the first time in 13 years that HCS Cadets have won the regional AST.

Fourteen HCS Cadets drawn from all age groups competed in a range of activities including RAF knowledge, drill and uniform, command task, shooting, aircraft recognition, first aid and a multi-stage fitness test.

Flt Lt Paul Maitland, OC RAF Section HCS CCF, who accompanied the Cadets on the trip, said: “The Air Squadron Trophy Team have worked extremely hard to gain first place in the regional competition and I am extremely proud of their deserved success. The hard work now continues in order to compete against the top 17 teams at the national competition in March 2018.”
