Police visit

Hereford Cathedral Junior School Reception pupils received an exciting visit from a police officer earlier this week.

PC Ben Daffurn, from West Mercia Police, paid a visit to the Moat on Monday afternoon, and the children were thrilled to hear that he had brought his German Shepherd, Tess, with him.

He explained to the children how his radios work, and showed them all of the equipment he carries in his vest, including his set of handcuffs.

The children heard all about what happens in a typical day for PC Daffurn and Tess, what the dog likes to eat, and how she helps him when he is responding to 999 calls. They were impressed to learn that Tess is trained to jump over walls!

Many thanks to PC Daffurn and Tess for their memorable visit to HCJS.
