Hereford Cathedral Junior School pupils were treated to a day of poetry and inspiration when local author Debra Bertulis visited on Monday.
Debra, a writer of stories, plays and, most notably, children’s poetry, has a passion for sparking creativity in young minds. She travels across the UK, encouraging children to play with words and craft poetry rich in imagery.
During her visit, she led a series of engaging workshops, presentations and readings for all pupils in the Junior School. Through thought-provoking activities, she inspired our learners to explore their memories and experiment with language. The results were remarkable, with Debra praising the originality and depth of many of the children’s poems.
Her visit left a lasting impression, motivating pupils to produce some beautiful poetry — just in time for World Poetry Day!
