Today we are pleased to announce that the winners of the inaugural Hereford Cathedral School CCF Inter-house Competition are Langford!

Earlier this month, cadets in years 9 to 11 were assessed on their first aid and leadership skills, as well as a testing round of military knowledge questions. This competition, involving 200 cadets, was masterminded and executed by our strong team of senior cadets, led in this instance by Deputy Cadet Warrant Officer, Holly C.

After the competition, Holly C commented: “Leading this competition and being able to work with the senior cadets across all three sections was amazing. Seeing everyone come together to coordinate this new event and adapt to changing situations was testament to the range of skills that the CCF provides.”

Contingent Commander Major Fowler commented: “It has been a privilege to watch the vision of an Interhouse CCF Competition become a reality. Holly’s attention to detail and ability to plan ahead enabled her to co-ordinate eight groups to be tested on three different skills, a total of 24 moving parts within each of the 90-minute sessions! The senior cadets all worked together with military precision under Holly’s leadership, to ensure that the 200 cadets involved knew exactly what they were doing and when. We look forward to continuing this new tradition and it will serve as an important reminder of what can be achieved when cadets support each other.”

Our Sixth Form cadets are the backbone of our CCF as they lead, instruct and inspire our younger cadets throughout the year. Today, we are celebrating the commitment of all our senior cadets by asking some of them to share their experiences of HCS CCF – please see the video below.
