Hereford Cathedral Junior School pupils and staff paid tribute to those lost in conflict during this morning’s Act of Remembrance in the Quiet Garden.
During the gathering, Headteacher Mrs Hoffmann urged everyone to pause, and remember those who have given their lives for their country, those who are fighting in wars today, and civilians who are caught up in conflict.
Well done to House Captains, Jacob E and Anna D, who did readings; and to Head Girl and Head Boy, Francesca N and Toby M, for laying the wreath. There was music from a Junior School ensemble, who played ‘Go Now in Peace’ by Don Besig and Nancy Price.
Year 9 pupil, Matthew H, kindly played The Last Post, and all fell silent at 11am for two minutes.
All of the children conducted themselves impeccably throughout.
