If you tuned in to last night’s episode of The One Show on BBC One, you may have spotted Hereford Cathedral Junior School pupil, Joseph T, who featured in presenter Kate Humble’s report about the work of Herefordshire Riding for the Disabled.
The Holme Lacy-based centre provides riding therapy sessions to children and adults with a wide range of additional needs.
Having contracted an enterovirus as a toddler, Joseph suffered paralysis in his right arm. A key part of his recovery has been his weekly after-school trips to Herefordshire RDA, which have helped to improve his mobility, posture and confidence.
Joseph, 7, says he really enjoys riding Riley, whose favourite foods are apples and hay. He has also enjoyed raising money for charity through his riding sessions.
