Pupils boarding at Hereford Cathedral School will enjoy being part of a boarding house with a warm, family atmosphere where we’ll ensure they feel safe and well looked after throughout their time with us.
The boarding house is situated near to Hereford city in a beautiful Georgian building, built around 1720. The newly acquired and fully refurbished property will offer pupils the perfect combination of a historic English setting with modern amenities. The house will be superbly equipped with a large common room, dining room, kitchen areas for making snacks and WiFi access throughout. The extensive grounds will be ideal for group activities and for pupils to relax and explore.
Our exceptional pastoral care will ensure a home-from-home experience for our students. Boarding house pupils will be cared for by our experienced and dedicated House Parents and a House Tutor. We will also have a school matron on site.
Single, twin and quad rooms will be available in the boarding house, all with en-suite facilities. Pupils can enjoy adding their own personal touches to make sure they feel at home.
Our wood-panelled dining room will provide a homely setting for communal meals. Pupils will eat lunch in the school dining hall or sixth form café during the week, and will return to the boarding house to enjoy dinner with their friends. Kitchen areas will also be available for pupils to make their own snacks.
Transport to and from school will be provided, as well as planned trips into the city at the weekend.
Some pupils may choose to stay with a ‘homestay family’ during their time with us. All families are carefully selected and vetted by the School.
House life will be busy, packed with fun activities for pupils to enjoy. As well as the sporting and extra curricular opportunities on offer at school, our boarders will enjoy a full programme of social activities during evenings and weekends.
These will include quiz and film nights on-site, and a range of trips to local attractions and events.
There will also be excursions to cities such as Oxford, Bath, Cardiff, Manchester and Liverpool.
