Mrs Lavender and Miss Spalding hosted Hereford Cathedral School’s ‘The Great Clothes Swap’ in the Zimmerman main hall for all senior school pupils.
Pupils were asked to bring in old unwanted clothes in exchange for tokens which could then be exchanged for other items of clothing brought in by other students. Any leftover donations were donated to local charities for others to enjoy. The thrifty initiative was put on in an effort to increase the lifespan of our clothing to encourage sustainability, second-hand clothes shopping and reduce fast fashion.
Hereford Cathedral Junior School helped by making a banner for the event at after-school club, decorating an old banner with scraps of recycled materials.
Miss Spalding commented: “I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who brought clothes in and came along to support the swap, we had a huge number of clothes and were very grateful for everyone’s efforts that made the event such a great success.”
