A selection of talented Year 5 & 6 Choir members have been chosen to perform at the national finals of Barnardo’s National Choir Competition, taking place this March. This prestigious event is the largest schools’ choir competition in the UK and raises vital funds for Barnardo’s work with children and young people.

Back in October, HCJS Head of Music, Miss Toolan, submitted a recording of the choir performing two stunning pieces for the competition. Since then, judges have been carefully reviewing entries from schools across the UK, and HCJS has now been announced as one of the 16 finalists!

The choir will showcase their talents on the iconic stage of Symphony Hall, Birmingham, on 4 March, competing against the best school choirs in the country.

Miss Toolan shared her excitement, saying:
“The choir have worked extremely hard to be selected from so many choirs across the UK in such a prestigious competition. I’m incredibly proud of them, and we can’t wait to be on stage at Symphony Hall.”

This incredible achievement is a testament to the dedication and musical talent of HCJS’s young singers. Best of luck to them as they prepare to shine on the national stage!
