What a World Book Day to remember! This morning, HCJS pupils paraded across Castle Street, dressed to impress in their character-themed costumes, ready for a special World Book Day assembly. Head of the Junior School, Mrs Hoffmann, retold the story of Dodie Smith’s The 101 Dalmatians while dressed as Cruella De Vil, helped by the rest of the staff, who were almost all dressed as Dalmatians!
There was a spectacular selection of costumes on display in school, including two Gangsta Grannies, a Fantastic Mr Fox, Willy Wonka, and even a Lady Macbeth!
Later, pupils in years 5 and 6 visited the Library for a workshop with fantasy author Luke Aylen.
What a great day!
