WELCOME TO WILMOT HOUSE

When you step through the doors of our stunning boarding house, you’ll quickly feel at home. We foster a warm family atmosphere, where students feel safe and supported during their stay. And while every boarder is treated as an individual, we’re proud to have created a close-knit community, where all our students – from both the UK and overseas – bond over bustling meal-times, group activities or playing a game of pool after prep.

I look forward to showing you around.

A SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY

With an onsite team of five caring residential staff led by our experienced housemistress, Wilmot House offers a nurturing environment where students forge lifelong friendships. During their time at HCS, you can rest assured that every aspect of your child’s experience, from their health and happiness to their academic attainment and personal growth, is in safe hands.

HOME-FROM-HOME

Just a short minibus ride from the city centre, the warm welcome at Wilmot House soon puts students at ease, however far from home they are. Set in a stunning Georgian building refurbished with modern amenities and technology, students study and sleep in comfortable ensuite bedrooms (individual or shared), relax in our sociable common room and enjoy delicious meals in the oak-panelled dining room.

Adding to the experience are the beautiful grounds, where students can enjoy a game of football, shoot some hoops in the dedicated basketball zone or relax with friends around the campfire.

As the boarding house is not in school, it really feels like we are going home every night. The staff are very helpful and take good care of us. There's always someone to talk to. The catering staff provide a variety of dishes, including things from our own countries!

Tiranke, Guinea

The boarding house is very welcoming and the staff try to provide whatever students want. Everybody is treated equally and it's easy to make friends. The teachers really want the best for us. They are very helpful and very motivating. I will miss the school!

Manuela, Germany/Spain

I love the trips at the weekends. There is such a variety - cities such as Cardiff and Bath, and activities like go-karting, paintballing, climbing and even a visit to the circus. The boarding house is in the countryside, so it's quiet and relaxing. A perfect place to study.

ACTIVITIES & EXCURSIONS

While it’s important that every student has some downtime, life at Wilmot House is never dull. Boarders can enjoy the same extra-curricular activities as day pupils after school, while in the evenings and at weekends, a lively programme of social activities includes quizzes, film nights, visits to local events and attractions, plus supervised day trips to cities like Oxford, Bath, Cardiff, Birmingham and Bristol.
