Their dedication and hard work culminated in this well-deserved accolade, highlighting the school’s commitment to fostering musical talent.

Miss Toolan, Head of Music at HCJS, said: “The choir were buzzing after their fabulously energetic and powerful performance on the stage. They thoroughly relished the opportunity to perform in such an exciting venue and also enjoyed listening to the other choirs. The standard of singing was excellent and it was a real honour to have been chosen as finalists.”

The Barnardo’s National Choir Competition, now in its 17th year, is the largest schools and community choir competition in the UK. It offers young singers an incredible opportunity to showcase their talents while raising funds to support Barnardo’s work with children and young people.

Headteacher Mrs Hoffmann added: “I was absolutely delighted to see the HCJS Year 5&6 Choir receive a trophy as finalists in the Barnardo’s competition. Miss Toolan and the children worked brilliantly together to deliver a performance that received rapturous applause. After so many months of hard work, everyone is really delighted with the outcome. It was a privilege to listen to them in such a prestigious setting and celebrate their success. And most importantly, we’ve all contributed to a hugely worthwhile charity.”
