Earlier this week, it was a pleasure to welcome Mr Edward Jones, Head of Brass at The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, along with his student quintet ‘Epsilon Brass’ as part of our Music Makers programme for 2024-25.
We also welcomed pupils from St James Primary School, St Thomas Cantilupe CE Primary School, Bishops, Fairfield and John Masefield School to enjoy Epsilon’s fun and interactive concert.
Later, Mr Jones led a masterclass for brass musicians from HCS and our guest schools, offering performance tips and technique tweaks.
HCS Director of Music, Mr Barlow, commented: “All the students thoroughly enjoyed the experience of playing alongside such accomplished musicians and the afternoon ended with a performance of a piece learned during the final workshop session.
