We had fantastic weather conditions at Wyeside for HCJS Sports Day last week. Pre-Prep started the proceedings with some closely run sprints, more challenging egg-and-spoon races, teddy bear races, throwing events and the finale, the Pre-Prep relay. After all the events had taken place, Woodall were the overall leaders.

In the afternoon, it was the turn of the Juniors who put on a real show. There were some great sprints and distance races and some very competitive field events. Four records were broken during the day; Harriet G broke the Year 6 Girls 200m record, William AL M the Year 6 Boys 200m and Joseph T broke his existing Y3&4 Boys Chest Push record. George B made the biggest improvement as he smashed the Boys High Jump record, with a personal best of 1m 35cm.

Going into the All Star Relays, the house competition was very much up for grabs, but strong performances from Matthews enabled them to take the overall victory, with Oakeley in second, Britten in third and early leaders Woodall in fourth.
