Hereford Cathedral School’s Combined Cadet Force has made a large donation of civilian tents, sleeping bags and clothing to help Syrian refugees.
The kit, which has previously been used for HCS expeditions, will be transported to the charity People in Motion, and transferred to Syrian refugees in France and Greece who are seeking refuge from the conflict in their country.
HCS School Staff Instructor Major (Rtd) Donna Greaves (pictured, right) said: “As well as being a positive representative of the school, we believe that CCFs can have a hugely positive impact on the local area, whether that’s through volunteering, getting involved in conservation or taking part in civic events. There are lots of positive examples of CCFs engaging with their local community.”
Naomi Jones-Clark of Holy Trinity Church, Hereford (pictured, left), collected the kit from HCS. It will now be sent on to People in Motion for distribution.
