Two Hereford Cathedral School pupils are celebrating after being selected for Worcester Warriors Developing Player Programme.

Harry S and Josh R, who are both in Year 8, were selected after taking part in an eight-team rugby festival at Luctonians organised by Worcester Warriors DPP last weekend. This included games and training from the Worcester coaches. Both boys represented Hereford Rugby Club in the festival.

Harry said: “Worcester Warriors are going to put us through a programme and improve our core skills.” Josh added: “I’m glad that I got in.”

The boys will follow in the footsteps of former HCS Head of School Will Butler, who now plays for Worcester Warriors and England U20s.

Harry and Josh’s Worcester Warriors sessions begin this week and will continue until Easter, when further selections will be made.

HCS head of Rugby Mr Windsor said: “We are very proud of the boys, who follow in the footsteps of many HCS students, past and present, to be selected for the Worcester Warriors player pathway. It is a great achievement!”

Meanwhile, HCS would like to congratulate all those pupils who have been selected to go through to the Herefordshire Extended Developing Player Programme this year.
