Hereford Cathedral School Year 7 pupil Zara B added to her growing collection of awards last week when she was presented with the Herefordshire Junior Female Sports Achiever award for 2018.
Zara was nominated for the award after a fantastic year, in which she became the IAPS National 50m Breaststroke champion and also the U13 British Modern Biathlon Champion.
Outside school, Zara has also been competing at a very high level in the pool, regularly beating swimmers far older than herself. She is currently competing in the Worcester County Swimming Championships. As the short course (25m) season comes to an end – Zara has obtained many age group and junior titles.
Zara has also been selected to represent the West Midlands at the National English Schools’ Swimming Association Championships in Crawley (Long Course) in March. In the same month, she will also be attending the British Schools Biathlon Championships at Crystal Palace.
