Hereford Cathedral School Year 8 pupils have this week learned some invaluable business lessons from some teachers of tomorrow.
On Tuesday, 12 trainee teachers from the University of Worcester challenged our teams to come up with a T-shirt design for their company ‘Santanwear’ to improve their sales. Each team had a ‘budget’ of £50, from which they could ‘purchase’ paints, buttons, fabric and other items to embellish their T-shirts.
The Zimmerman Hall was a-buzz with activity as the Year 8 pupils pooled their skills to come up with their unique and eye-catching designs. The groups had to consider issues such as sustainability and costing before presenting their finished products to the rest of the year group. The final products were judged by our guests from the University of Worcester on creativity, cohesion and finance.
Congratulations to Group B, whose excellent design was picked as the winner!
Head of Economics and Business, Mr Jackson, commented: “All in all, great fun was had by everyone. A great thank you must go to colleagues from the University of Worcester whose enthusiasm and dynamism resulted in the event being such a success. We look forward to building upon this next year.”
