Children in Hereford Cathedral Junior School’s Reception class had a very exciting visit from a Police Community Support Officer earlier this week.

He told them all about life as a PCSO and how he works hard to keep the streets of Hereford safe. He showed the children all of the items that he has to carry with him at all times, including a torch and lots of notebooks. The children took it in turns to ask him questions about what it is like to work in the police force.

The highlight was when the children got to have a go at sitting in the police car with its blue lights flashing. They even got to hear the very loud siren!

This was a really memorable occasion for the children, and a valuable lesson in understanding the world.
