A limited number of means-tested financial grants are available each year to provide a reduction in school fees that is appropriate to the family’s individual needs. We look to support those pupils who are likely to gain the most from an education at HCS and will contribute fully to school life.

A small number of pupils each year receive financial assistance that covers 100% of the day fees to assist families that are unable to finance their child’s education at the School. We also offer partial fees assistance on a sliding scale based on the results of the means test.

You can usually apply for fees assistance for pupils joining in Years 7, 9 or 12, although depending on the availability of funds, we may be able to consider those joining us at other entry points. We regret that we are not able to offer financial assistance for boarding places or for places in the Junior School (other than for Cathedral choristers).

The School employs the services of Bursary Administration Limited (BAL) who prepare the information which is used in our decision-making process. Please note that funds are limited and therefore not all applications will be successful. All information about applications for financial assistance is kept strictly confidential.

If you believe you may be eligible to receive financial assistance, please contact the Admissions team as soon as possible for advice and further information.
