New fleet for HCS Boat Club following flood woes

Hereford Cathedral School Boat Club received a very special delivery last week, of a whole new fleet of boats.

After Storm Dennis blighted Hereford in February this year, many of the HCS boats were damaged beyond repair by flood water. The School’s insurance claim for replacement boats was then delayed due to the Coronavirus situation.

Thankfully, the five Kanghua Spirit elite-level vessels, were delivered safely to Hereford last Thursday, and HCS rowers are excited to have these pristine boats at their disposal.

HCS Rowing Coach Mr Conington commented: "As well as replacing those boats unfortunately lost in last year's floods, the delivery of five new Kanghua racing shells means our fleet of boats has been upgraded in quantity and quality. With some exciting talent coming up through the school, it will help HCSBC in its aim of competing at the highest level nationally in the future."
