Public Benefit

Hereford Cathedral School is a registered charity (number 518889), whose ultimate aim is the provision of high quality education and a broad range of opportunities. We are careful to ensure that in supporting our aims and charitable aims we are also of benefit to the public.

Financial Support

At Hereford Cathedral School, we work hard to ensure that as many children as possible are able to enjoy the excellent opportunities we offer, regardless of their financial background. Our bursaries are funded from a variety of sources, including the Old Herefordians Trust, private donations and legacies.

Charity Support

We actively encourage our pupils and staff to support and help a variety of charities in the wider community. Whether weekly, termly or annually, from fashion shows and music concerts to cake sales and sponsored runs, everyone is encouraged to do their bit to help those less fortunate than themselves.

- Our 2016 fashion show raised over £5,750 for The Little Princess Trust

- Our Junior School raised £538.13 for Children in Need in 2017

- The retiring collection from our Evening of Words and Music for Remembrance in November 2016 raised £1,111 for the Royal British Legion.

We also have an external charity that was founded in the School, The Little Princess Trust, which provides real-hair wigs to children, and which will always be close to the School’s heart.

Other supported charities include:

BBC Children in Need, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Cancer Research UK, Comic Relief, Concern Universal, Help for Heroes, Martha Trust Hereford, Parkinson’s UK, The Haven Hereford, The Music Pool Herefordshire, The 737 Challenge.

School Outreach

We support and encourage our teachers, staff and departments to engage with the wider community, and especially its local schools. Our school has some of the best facilities in the county and our staff have a wealth of expertise. We share both through a variety of activities and opportunities.

From sports tournaments, maths competitions and music concerts, to science classes, classics workshops and design and technology conferences, we host, involve, invite and work with our local primary, prep and secondary schools.
